Matt Halliday put his first race disappointment behind him to claim victory in only his second Formula Renault Asia V6 showing after making a determined charge from seventh on the grid.
Having seen his hopes of a podium in his debut race scuppered by a late puncture, Halliday put in a strong drive to make it two wins from two for Team Meritus over the weekend.
In the rush to the first corner, pole man, Hamad Al Fardan had a clear run into the turn. Seth Ingham of CT Motorsport lost his position to Karun Chandhok of Team E-Rain and closing the gap behind Chandhok was Halliday with Ingham right behind.
Behind them were Denis Lian of Racing for Singapore, Ananda Mikola of Team Eurasia, Hanss Lin of Team E-Rain, Ken Lee of CT Motorsport, Jeffrey Lee and Michael Ho of Champ Motorsport. |
