The 2006 Formula Asia V6 by Renault series moves to the Sentul circuit in Indonesia and India's Karun Chandhok is looking forward to battling for victory and re-claiming the top spot in the championship.
Indonesia has been rocked this week by the earthquake and tsunami, but the organisers are nevertheless expecting a good crowd.
Chandhok currently lies second in the points standings, just 8 points behind Bahraini driver Hamad Al Fardan, although the Indian is expecting a tough challenge to come from A1 Grand Prix drivers Ananda Mikola and Matt Halliday. Indeed, the duo are expected to have the advantage over their rivals this weekend by virtue of being the only drivers to have experience of the Sentul circuit.
Nonetheless, it was Chandhok, on his first visit to the circuit, that ended the first practice session leading the way, with Halliday and Mikola just behind in second and third.
