Joint Formula Renault V6 Asia championship leader Ananda Mikola led the way after practice for rounds seven and eight of the championship, topping two of the three sessions ahead of qualifying at the Zhuhai International Circuit in China.
Fresh from taking victory on home soil at Sentul, Mikola is out to extend his championship lead this weekend, starting it off in fine style when he topped sessions one and two with relative ease.
Having been narrowly missed by Tropical Storm Bopha, the circuit remained dry through the day, with Mikola leading fellow points leader Hamad Al Fardan, while Matt Halliday rounded out the top three, albeit 0.8secs down on Mikola.
It was the Indonesian A1 Grand Prix driver who emerged top in the second session, getting to within 0.1secs of his best time, although the Eurasia driver was confident he was able to go faster. |
